Foundation digging is continuing and the contractors have just sent to us this picture. You can now see the outline of the rooms in both 'arms' of the school.

20th July 2006

Jack Wells, Linda Casey and Sue Stephens attended a site meeting at The Oaks to view the progress so far and to meet with Willmott Dixon, the contractors, Surrey County Council representatives, Kevin Perren of Atkins, the architect and other major contributors to the building process. The meeting covered several different areas:
Completion date: The current contract completion date is 2nd July 2007 and Willmott Dixon are currently just ahead of schedule.
Progress: Foundations are currently in the process of being dug and already some are filled with concrete. It is possible to the outline of one of the arms of the school, complete with rooms.
Health and Safety: No issues to report and inspections have been satisfactory.
Environmental issues: There have been regular inspections and no major issues.
Building Control: The inspector is currently very happy with the works.
Interface with the surrounding locality: Relationships have been made with the residents and particularly with the chidlren who occupy the two children's homes still on site.

We have given Willmott Dixon a piece of Freemantles artwork which they will use on their hoarding - so watch out for this if you are near the site.
